"The Dream Half Eternity Diamond Band"

What is the best way to celebrate the birth of a newborn baby??? Get Brian Gavin to make you a custom made diamond eternity ring...

A customer of ours contacted us at the end of April interested in a diamond "baby ring".
After much discussion, mainly by e-mail, she decided on a very fine custom made shared prong half eternity band. Her band was made from 18K white gold and was set with 11 x .05 H/I SI Brian Gavin Signature melee. (It is also available using F/G VS Brian Gavin Signature melee.) --

On receiving the band we received a short e-mail with the following, "Lesley and Brian, I love it, it is perfection!" and she directed us to her Pricescope post where she elaborated on her reaction to receiving her band. We asked her to name it and she decided on "The Dream Half Eternity Band".

Enjoy the pictures of the creation of this beautiful half eternity diamond band…

Custom Milgrain Platinum Diamond Antique/Vintage Style Heirloom Ring

We were recently contacted via e-mail by a customer who had contacted us at the end of last year based on my reputation. On discovering that I had started a new company, she googled my name and found briangavindiamonds.com. She was looking for a custom made antique/vintage style platinum ring set with a Brian Gavin Signature hearts and arrows diamond in the 1 carat D VS range.  On viewing the diamond, they were blown away by its beauty and performance. The customer e-mailed us several “inspiration” pictures and together we ironed out all the details. The actual creation took several weeks from the design process, to the printing of the wax, casting of the ring and the setting of the Brian Gavin Signature melee, to the engraving of the forget me nots on the shank and the last hand crafted bead of milgrain.

On receiving the finished ring, she e-mailed us the following:
"…This ring is a work of art and an heirloom even now!  Honestly, you and Brian and Mr. Le are just wonderful people. We truly appreciate the way you treated us and are so happy that you are off on your own. You probably already have a ton of loyal followers keeping you busy. You deserve them to follow you. Mostly I have lost my faith that there are decent caring business people but you and Brian are the real deal. Thank you.  May God bless you with every good thing…"

Brian Gavin and Martin Rapaport discuss Conflict Diamonds.

The JCK Jewelry Show in Las Vegas, the industry’s annual premier buying event, takes place over the first weekend of June every year.
On the Monday morning of the show, Martin Rapaport, delivers his “State of the Industry” address to a standing room only crowd.   On Monday, June 5, 2006, Martin Rapaport addressed an international audience on the plight of artisanal diamond miners in Africa. Rapaport’s JCK proposal centered on the diamond industry using economic purchasing power to create market forces which can drive out exploitation and poverty in Africa’s poorest countries.

Following his address, Brian Gavin discussed the African situation with Rapaport for a camera team from the Discovery Channel.     He discussed the political obstacles to creating free, fair and competitive markets.

Beyond what the protectionist work Kimberly Process, the USA Patriot Act and the Council for Responsible Jewelry Practices are doing, he discussed whether the information age presented an opportunity to work toward more people-centered solutions.
Being born and raised in South Africa and having traveled extensively in the war torn areas of the African continent, Brian Gavin was in a unique position to add his comments resulting in a passionate and animated discussion.
